They had a stone cold blast earlier in New York City’s Times Square yesterday (February 4, 2012) as fans of Soul Train boogied down Broadway rocking afro wigs and bell bottoms in tribute to the show’s, Don Cornelius.

It was the ‘hippest trip in America’ as about 100 dancers descended upon Times Square in a flash mob organized through the internet.  Startled tourists looked on, but eventually joined in once they realized they were a part of one huge Soul Train line!

Awesome!

Can you imagine a thousand people doing the electric slide in the middle of Times Square? Well you don’t have to because there’s video of it!

No one can deny that Andre 3000 has a style of his own.

Dre’s always has that ‘something’ that gives him a leg up on fashion. It doesn’t matter if he’s rocking a turban, “A”town fitted or a lil raspberry beret, he’s still got the style game on lock.

And it doesn’t go unnoticed. Mr. Benjamin was recently called a “Master of Style” by Gillette and is featured in their recent marketing campaign for their new razor. 

In a promo clip for the company, Dre speaks on Style and what it means to him, stating:

Style is taking what you have… kinda what you’re given and playing with it. That’s what style is.

It’s just kinda finding what’s in you and pulling it out.  It’s something that you have that nobody else has and you kind of just have to love it… nurture it… and say ‘this is me and I’m just gonna blast it out to the world’.

Dre also goes on to answer a few other questions about style and explains why grooming is so important.

NeNe Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is on the warpath after actor Brian White referred to her as a racial stereotype.

In the interview, White who was recently offended after his fans talked slick about his non-Black wife, felt the need return the favor and offend a few people himself by going on a rant about racial stereotypes on reality televsion.

Clifford T.I. Harris celebrated the completion of the Fall/Winter line of AKOO with a  celebrity filled fashion show last night in Atlanta (February 2, 2012).

Tip’s entire family was there to share in the celebration including his mom, Violeta Morgan (T.I.’s mom), wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and all of their kids.  Of course since everyone was in attendance, cameras were rolling for their VH1 reality show.

I’m also wondering if Cynthia Bailey, who was also spotted at the show, will work this into her RHOA storyline somehow, being that I heard that a few of the models working for AKOO last night were from Cynthia’s The Bailey Agency.

[Sidebar: There were some fine "A"zz male models onstage but one in particular looked like someone's uncle and word on the curb is that he came from Bailey's agency... can't wait to see how VH1 plays it!]

Tip and Tiny’s kids provided the entertainment. The OMG Girlz (which features Tiny’s daughter Zonnique) performed as well as Domani, who rapped about gettin’ to Da Money!

Also spotted at the event were Keri Hilson (who surprised Tip’s son Messiah with a “Happy Birthday” solo), Polow Da Don, Future, YelaWolf, Tameka Raymond, super producer Bryan-Michael Cox, one of the Braxtons (I can never get them straight) and more.

Ok… so lemme get this straight… we already have The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Mob Wives and Basketball/Football and Baseball Wives.

There’s been pilots filmed for “BMF” (Black Mafia Family) Wives” (which may have been shot down by Big Meech & his mom) and let’s not forget the ill fated “Mistresses of Atlanta”which is said to be coming soon…. but can you imagine a show fulla “Preacher’s Wives”??

Well clutch your bibles folks because it’s a done deal. There’s a new reality show in the works that features the ladies behind the men behind the pulpit.

And it’s based in Atlanta…. And it’s already been picked up by a network! :shock: *sigh*

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Clifford “T.I.” Harris’ fashion show to showcase the upcoming line from his AKOO clothing company.

The entire Harris family was in attendance and the event was being taped to air on a future episode of the family’s VH1 reality show, “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle.”

Tip’s oldest son, Messiah, was celebrating his 13th birthday and apparently he has a huge crush on singer Keri Hilson.

After the birthday boy completed his catwalk, Tip, every the dutiful dad, surprised him with a Happy Birthday song from non other than Miss Keri Baby herself!

Justin Bieber recently shared a few photos of he and Lil Wayne spending a bit of quality time.

Bieber is apparently back in the studio and the pop star revealed that his “big bro” Lil Wayne paid him a special visit.

The two appear to be have a very intense conversation near a skateboard ramp so we can only assume that they were either (a) swapping skating tips, or (b) discussing an upcoming collaboration.

Clifford “T.I.” Harris and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris  paid a visit to BET’s 106th & Park yesterday evening (February 1, 2012) during the show’s tribute to the legendary Soul Train founder, Don Cornelius.

The couple, often referred to as hiphop’s version of The Cosby’s, reflected on the life of Cornelius and the impact Soul Train had on African-American music.

Host Rocsi noted that without Soul Train there would be no 106 & Park, while Tip pointed out how important the show was in Black culture.

“For me, it was about him creating a platform for us to be able to see ourselves,” explained Tip.

“Every Saturday morning after cartoons went off, I was waiting and hoping Run-DMC or somebody was on there. If not for him, we wouldn’t have had that. And not just my generation, but generations before me.”

Tiny also reminiscences about appearing on Soul Train when she was with Xscape AND the couple spoke on rumors that they have a bun in the oven.

Bishop Eddie Long is no longer a “commoner” in fact, according to the congregation at his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, Long is now KING!

Crefelo Dollar tried to tell y’all LONG had insurance, well it looks like his policy is finally paying off.

Now I could go on and on about how Long took advantage of those 4 young men who sued him for sexual coercion and the fact that Long decided to settle out of court with the Church’s money  for reportedly $24.8 million dollars and a “private” apology after a 5th accuser came forward with even more damaging information about his conduct….

I could further rant about how 2 of the FIVE young men chose to tell their compelling story to news reporters because they are so traumatized about the situation and are STILL seeking closure.

Or maybe I could mention how Bishop KING Eddie Long felt the young men revealed too much about their “relationship” with him so he sought to get his HUSH money back.

I could mention all of that but it still wouldn’t matter…. because Long is “covered in scripture” and he’s KING of his flock!
